I thought Hans Christian Andersen was an author. He wrote The Little Mermaid, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Princess and the Pea, The Snow Queen, and many more, but in Tokyo there is a park dedicated to the Danish story-writer. Hans Christian Andersen Park So we went to check it out on the recommendation of a friend.  There it was, including a windmill and a statue of the man.  It was a very cute theme for the park. Mostly it was full of activities like climbing and sliding and waterplay.  Plus it had ponies to ride (if you’re a child) and a petting zoo.

CIMG2335We got to ride some bike-cars. It probably wasn’t much fun for the guys since they had to pedal the girls around the course, but we enjoyed it.

CIMG2319 CIMG2322I think the guys had the most fun doing the roller slide. Next time we need to have a cardboard to sit on – it gets really hot when you roll down fast without one!

CIMG2306There must have  been about 10,000 people there, and at least half of them were children.  Next time we need to rent a kid to take with us.

Tents were all over the grass areas. Kids were all over the play areas.  It looked like they were having a great time.

We enjoyed the park, including some of the play areas and the beautiful landscaping all around. See some of that here.
